Great post. As a non-programmer I fond it difficult to sort though hype around blockchain. There some very serious issues with the most popular implementations from what I can tell. Creating a huge amount of inequality around a scarce digital asset is of most concern to me.
One of the major problems that some say can be solved with blockchain technology is that of decentralized identity — a way for individuals to create identifiers in a namespace they have complete control over in a “self sovereign” manner.
